A group of architecture students from Hochschule Mainz, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marta Pelegrín, co-founder together with Fernando Pérez of MEDIOMUNDO architects, has been awarded the prestigious Gutenberg Stipendium Prize. Since 1946, this recognition has been granted by the city of Mainz to promote educational excellence and innovation in the region’s universities.

The award ceremony, held at the Historical Museum of Rhineland-Palatinate, was attended by the City of Mainz’s Councillor for Culture, who emphasised the importance of university education and the role of architecture in social and cultural transformation.

The students’ work, guided by the experience and innovative approach of MEDIOMUNDO architects, reflects the studio’s commitment to research, creativity, and sustainability in contemporary architecture. Based in Seville, MEDIOMUNDO architects is renowned for its work on cultural, social, and educational projects, as well as its involvement in teaching and training new generations of architects.

This prize is a boost for the students and for Hochschule Mainz itself, consolidating its commitment to high-quality education and collaboration with internationally recognised studios such as MEDIOMUNDO architects.
