Palace of Charles V, The Alhambra, Granada

Marta Pelegrín and Fernando Pérez, founders of MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos, were responsible for the design of the commemorative exhibition marking the Centenary of the Cante Jondo Competition, held in the halls of the Palace of Charles V at The Alhambra, Granada.

The project involved the creation of an integrated exhibition system, where the supports, scenography, and wooden display cases were conceived as a “temporary and recyclable structure”, in respectful dialogue with the historic architecture of the palace. The proposal included exhibition lighting and graphic design, creating an atmosphere that highlights the uniqueness of the original materials and the previously unseen documentation from the first Cante Jondo Competition, of exceptional heritage value.

MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos’ intervention is characterised by attention to detail, sustainable materials, and the ability to transform the space into a sensory and cultural experience, in line with the studio’s philosophy.
