Lecture by Fernando Pérez Blanco of MEDIOMUNDO architects in Mainz
At the LUX Pavilion of HS Mainz, in the city of Mainz, architect Fernando Pérez Blanco delivered the lecture “Architecture as a Resource” to architecture students from eight different nationalities.
Pérez Blanco presented two emblematic projects by MEDIOMUNDO architects: the rehabilitation of the Sala Chaflán de Cibeles for the Bank of Spain and the San Francisco Theatre in Vejer de la Frontera.
Through these projects, the architect demonstrated how the traceability of the design and construction process is a fundamental tool for optimising resource use in architectural rehabilitation.
International Collaborative Learning
The lecture, held in an international setting, enabled architecture students from various countries to exchange knowledge and perspectives on sustainable rehabilitation strategies.
Pérez Blanco’s focus on resource optimisation through traceability and the rehabilitation of existing buildings lays the foundation for a more conscious and environmentally responsible architectural practice.
