Marta Pelegrín and Fernando Pérez, founders of MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos, continue their commitment to research and dissemination in the field of contemporary and sustainable architecture. As part of the International Workshop on Architectural Rehabilitation “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”, held at the LUX Pavilion of Hochschule Mainz (Germany), Fernando Pérez delivered the lecture “Architecture as a Resource”.
Before architecture students from eight different nationalities, MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos’ presentation focused on project and construction traceability as a fundamental tool for optimising resources and ensuring sustainability in architectural rehabilitation. Through projects such as the refurbishment of the Sala Chaflán de Cibeles for the Bank of Spain and the San Francisco Theatre in Vejer de la Frontera, the practice demonstrated how research and rigour in the design process can transform architectural heritage from a contemporary and responsible perspective.
Participation in this international event reinforces MEDIOMUNDO’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the transfer of knowledge within the field of architecture.
