In 2005 Seville City Council launched an architectural competition to design a square to be built over the railway lines to hide them from view.

MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos understands the city to be a meeting point of landscapes and happenings in profound coexistence with existing morphology. Within the city there are always events and everyday realities that transcend a specific moment in time. Therefore we proposed a project in which the planned space for liberty (as required in the terms and conditions of the competition) contributes to recover values of urban identity and integration, as well as creating new spaces in which liberty, culture, recreation and interaction can take place. At MEDIOMUNDO arquitectos we believe these spaces and architectures are able to stimulate, promote and integrate the intelligent city which we define as spaces that stimulate, increase and integrate the values of the city with those of both collective and individual citizens.
