Teaching Innovation and Sustainable Rehabilitation

At MEDIOMUNDO, we understand architecture as a process of continuous learning, where teaching and research are intertwined to address the current challenges of the built environment. For this reason, on 21 and 22 November 2024, we are taking part in the Teaching Innovation in Architecture Conference (JIDA’24), held at Rey Juan Carlos University, Aranjuez Campus, with the collaboration of Fundación Arquia and Iniciativa Digital UPC.

On this occasion, Marta Pelegrín and Fernando Pérez are sharing the results of our teaching work in Architectural Design at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Hochschule Mainz. Under the title “Confluence in the Teaching of Sustainable Rehabilitation Projects of 1950–70 Siedlungen in Mainz, Germany”, we are presenting our experience in teaching the sustainable rehabilitation of mid-20th-century residential complexes, emphasising international collaboration, methodological innovation, and a commitment to sustainability.

At MEDIOMUNDO, we are committed to active and experimental teaching, convinced that education and critical reflection are fundamental to transforming architecture and improving people’s lives.
