The Expansion of the building for School of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Seville is built within a courtyard concept as a representative and functionally versatile space, around which the renovated existing building, the library and the laboratories are disposed.

In the existing building a MEP and Façades transformation is made for its functional and energy optimization. It houses the classrooms, teaching laboratories and administration. The extension is connected to the three floors conceived as  a functional building of spaces around a courtyard that allows the division and equipping of research laboratories and department offices.

The facades of all the pieces are formed by a modulated matrix of equal gaps that allows multiple possibilities of variation of closed or open gaps, in this way it responds to possible interior modifications and it also manages to optimize the natural light that enters the classrooms according to their orientation and size.

“Health is mainly the measure of each person’s ability to do or to become what they want to be”.

By  René Dubos, Microbiologist, Pulitzer Prize, author of “So Human an Animal: How We Are Shaped by Surroundings and Events”, 1968.

The relationship between architecture and health becomes evident at the moment in which the first one defines and builds “healthy spaces”, that is, paraphrasing the appointment, insofar as they allow each one to form and become what they want to be.

This definition of health and optimization of healthy space conceptually guide the proposal.

The new Faculty of Medicine of Badajoz is a single exempt building whose pieces are interwoven by PATIOS and CIRCULATIONS. This MATRIX guarantees healthy spaces of relationship, where the academic and research life develops.

The buildings K1 and K2 are part of the urban development plan run by EDDEA-ATLANTICA group for the Leninsky district, Moscow. This master plan defines the concept of “Design Re-use Patron” as a key tool for the intervention in the plot.

In this context MEDIOMUNDO Arquitectos developed the kindergartens and their surroundings. For this project we propose a patron composed by a system of elements, rules and principles which fit the norms, restrictions and program requirements.

The resulting buildings have been defined to improve the architectural quality of the interior spaces and the general quality of life. To achieve this we accepted the challenge to study thoroughly the existing typologies to improve the spaces and, at the same time, to adapt the program requirements to the designed building, making them modular, extensible, reusable.

The developed proposals have been created with BIM technology, which permits to obtain and manage building information, materials and finishing definition, constructive systems definition, material and element quantifying.

For the new Museum and Municipal Offices , we rehabilitates an existing dwelling building as Municipal Offices and we design a new building together with the Museum of Cánovas del Castillo.

The new building connects and guarantees universal accessibility to all levels of the plots and buildings, as well as the provision of the necessary facilities to complement the demand and the production of energy. This new building houses administration, management, attention and information to the citizen, workshops and classrooms linked to the Museum and multipurpose courtyards, as well as the independence of the operation of the different vertical circulations. The Cánovas del Castillo Museum and the Municipal Offices are committed to the rehabilitation and optimization of the energy balance and the use of available resources.
